Meet Your Miss Reinhardt 2011 Contestants!

On October 21, 2011, six special women will grace the stage to compete for the coveted honor of Miss Reinhardt. The competition, which is part of the Fall Family & Alumni Weekend festivities, is open to all women who attend Reinhardt full time, and contestants will be judged on academic excellence, commitment to community, talent, interview and evening gown categories.

Meet the contestants!

1. Samantha Canuel

Age: 20
Class: Junior
Major: Creative Writing

Involvement at Reinhardt: Editor in Cheif of the Hiltonia, Public Safety student worker
member of Writer’s Group.

Interests Are: writing, reading, music, and movies

Interesting Fact: Band captain in high school.

Why should I be Miss Reinhardt: I believe I should be Miss Reinhardt because I am very involved and excited about Reinhardt!

2. Kelsey Syers

Age: 21
Class: Senior
Major: Middle Grades Education

Involvement at Reinhardt: Anime Club, Judicial Council, Writer’s Club and Real Deal.

Interests Are: writing, reading, tennis, gymnastics, learning languages

Interesting Fact: Speaks Chinese, Spanish, and Japanese.

Why should I be Miss Reinhardt: I am a very dedicated, hard working student who would be proud to represent Reinhardt in Georgia!

3. Phoebe Budd

Age: 20
Class: Junior
Major: Middle Grades Science and Math and Education

Involvement at Reinhardt: SIFE-project coordinator, Math and Chess Club treasurer.

Interests Are: Collects can tops for Ronald McDonald House; loves animals.

Interesting Fact: Allergic to red dye; raised on a chicken farm.

Why should I be Miss Reinhardt: Will represent the school in a good way. I am a positive student and a good representative of the type of student that comes here!

4. Caroline Folsom

Age: 20
Class: Sophomore
Major: Biology

Involvement at Reinhardt: Resident Assistant, Student Activities Council (SAC), Tri-Beta (BBB) Honors Society, CCO Representative for Tri-Beta(BBB) Honors Society, Campus Ministry Leader, Wind Ensemble, Concert Choir, Bookstore Employee.

Interests Are: singing, fishing, painting, volunteering with elderly.

Interesting Fact: I hugged Javier Lopez from the Braves!

Why should I be Miss Reinhardt: I am devoted and rooted in the Reinhardt Family with total passion. I love being involved with academics, student activities and residence life. I would be a well-rounded representative.

5. Roseanna Martin

Age: 20
Class: Junior
Major: Math Education with a minor in Spanish

Involvement at Reinhardt: Price School of Education (PSOE) work study, Center for Student Success as math tutor, member of ALAS, leader for Freshly, volunteer with Reinhardt 2011 spring Blood Drive, president of Reinhardt University Baptist Collegiate Ministries 2010-2011. member of Baptist Collegiate Ministries Fall2009- Spring 2011, member of the Outdoor Club2009-2010, member of Intramural Flag Football 2009-2011, member Freshley/Wesley 2009-Spring 2011.

Interests Are: working out, friends, evening walks, photography, and mudding.

Interesting Fact: fluent in Spanish.

Why should I be Miss Reinhardt: Because I’m very in involved and can be a good role model for the future and current students of Reinhardt. I am excited about what Reinhardt has to offer!

6. Olivia Goodall

Age: 20
Class: Junior
Major: General Business and Fine Arts

Involvement at Reinhardt: Reinhardt Central manager, Reinhardt University New Student Orientation coordinator, Reinhardt University captain, Reinhardt University Student Activities Council, RU Red Cross Club president, Reinhardt University Student Government senator, National Art Honor Society Kappa Pi president, National Leadership Honor Sigma Lambda president, and resident assistant.

Interests Are: Getting involved and art.

Interesting Fact: I eat a lot of Cheetos!

Why should I be Miss Reinhardt: I believe I should be the next Miss Reinhardt because I have truly put my heart and soul into Reinhardt. Doing my best to help with anything I possibly can has always been my attitude. Some say it’s my inability to say no to someone in need, while I think it’s my love for helping others. I truly believe I embody Reinhardt’s spirit. I choose my actions carefully and always keep my leadership positions in mind, and over all I truly love Reinhardt and think I could represent the institution very well!
