Henritze Scholarship Golf Classic Raises More than $124,000

Reinhardt Announces More than $124,000 in Scholarships Raised from Henritze Scholarship Golf Classic; Congratulates Winners of Golf Tournament

The 26th annual Reinhardt University Dave Henritze Scholarship Golf Classic, played at Hawks Ridge Golf Club in Ball Ground, Ga., on May 5, was an enormous success. The initial amount raised was more than $124,000, with all funds from this event going towards scholarships for deserving Reinhardt students.

Larry Mize Returns to Tournament

Larry Mize returned to the Golf Classic this year in support of Reinhardt’s efforts. Mize, an Augusta, Ga. native, presently plays on the Champions Tour and retained his membership in the PGA Tour for 20 seasons (1982-2001). He is well-known for one career-beginning shot – a chip from off the green at the 11th hole at Augusta to win the playoff for the 1987 Masters Tournament.

First Low Gross

At the tournament, Mize was positioned on #3, the par across the lake, where he hit the first ball for each group. Each team had the option to select Mize’s ball and play it for $50.00. This year 27 teams participated in playing Mize’s ball, which brought in an additional $1,300 in scholarship funds for Reinhardt students.
