WALESKA, Ga. — An excellent way to stay informed of what events are upcoming is to check the university calendar, which can be found on Reinhardt’s website. Or download the RU Events app on iOS and Android. There are several essential days that students should be aware of so they don’t get caught off guard and go into a panic. Midterm exams for session one classes start on Monday, October 7th, and will continue throughout the week. Also, on October 7th, there will be a MTNA Guest Faculty Pianist Recital at 7:30 p.m. On Tuesday, a Flu Clinic will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., and in the evening, Common Ground will be held from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Flu shots will cost $25 unless students have proof of insurance, in which case they will be free. Students will have Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday off for Fall Break and an Outdoors Trip is planned for those three days.

The Falany Performing Arts Center will hold a multitude of events in October.

The week of October 14th is filled with extracurricular activities that students have the opportunity to get involved in. There will be an RU Leads event on Monday from 6 to 7:30 p.m. On Tuesday there will be another Common Ground event from 8 to 9 p.m. and a Choral Festival & Clinic with a Concert starting at 7:30 p.m. A Blood drive will also be held on Thursday from 12 to 5 p.m. in addition to a Ping Pong Tournament a Mini Golf Tournament with both starting at 7 p.m. and ending at 9 p.m. Friday, Saturday and Sunday will host a multitude of theater events.

On October 21st, advising and registration for Spring Semester will be available to students and will continue throughout the week and into the following week. October 21st is also the final day for students to add or drop classes for Fall Session two classes. Tuesday will host yet another Common Ground at its usual time and Thursday will host three events: Field Day from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., Solo/Ensemble hour at 3:30 p.m. and a Cornhole Tournament to end the day from 7 to 9 p.m. The Falany Performing Arts Center will host five events from Friday through Sunday at various times. Red Cedar Review, an acoustic band, will perform on Friday at 7:30 p.m., and a Guitar Clinic will be held on Saturday, followed by a Musical Theatre Cabaret at 7:30 p.m. A Pickleball Doubles Tournament will also be held on Saturday from 1 to 4 p.m. The Guitar Clinic will continue on Sunday and will be followed by a performance at 3 p.m. by Adam Kossler, a guest guitarist.

The final week of October will have multiple events every day of the week. Advising and registration for Spring semester classes will continue with the last day to register to be on Friday. Homecoming week will begin on Monday and continue through Sunday, and Penny Wars will also be held all week from 8 to 11:30 p.m. Tuesday will host Sandy Candy from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and a Wind Ensemble Concert at 7:30 p.m. After Pink Out Wednesday, Thursday will hold a free Theatre Halloween show followed by a Middle School Band Clinic on Friday and Saturday. Saturday will also host a 5k from 8 to 11 a.m., a tailgate from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., the Homecoming Presentation and Crowning from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m., and the Homecoming Formal from 8 to 11:30 p.m. As you can see, October is full of events that you won’t want to miss, so mark your calendars.
