Welcome to the first episode of the Reinhardt Eagle Eye’s “Genius Talks” series. In this edition, Lorenzo Robinson sits down with Professor William “Bill” Walsh, the Director of Reinhardt’s MFA program, to talk about his life and career. He speaks about his formative years as a college student before elaborating on his previous job as a private investigator. He also talks about his journey to Reinhardt, his favorite aspects of his current occupation, and the legacy he hopes to leave at the school. Professor Bill Walsh is one of the many geniuses that can be found on Reinhardt’s campus.

Walsh has recently published his seventh book, Fly Fishing on Times Square, a poetry collection, through Cervena Barva Press. Former Poet Laureate of Georgia David Bottoms said of Walsh’s work: “With amazing vision and linguistic skill Walsh explores the desires and realities of domestic life in America. These powerful poems never fail to lead us to ask the right questions. . . .” Reviewer Michael White calls Walsh “a poet who is also a master storyteller.”
